Cell Phones and Kids

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TracFone for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My daughters are going into the second and fourth grades in a few weeks and as they have the past few years, they have once again asked when they will get their own cell phones.

IronFish's answer is never, but I think when they enter middle school I will probably get them one.  A friend of mine recently added one of her son's to her plan and was trying to calculate the best options for everyone and still fit it into her budget.  With various companies raising their plan prices this summer, it was rather timely that I'd hear about TracFone.  Did you know TracFone is the least expensive way to own and use a phone in America?  With no contracts, credit checks, activation or cancelation fees, there are no surprises.

Here is a video showing the features of one of their phones:

TracFone offers a wide variety of name brand phones and various monthly plans.  While I'm pretty sure my girls will want to be able to play Angry Birds when they get phones, I'm not sure I want to start them out with full smart phone capabilities, probably just talk and text while they are still young.  I really just want them to be able to reach me if they need me (or vise versa), which is under $10 a month for TracFone.

Plus, TracFone has international calling plans... something I'm really hoping to need in the near future (I love to travel and might get to go to abroad in the next few months, fingers crossed!).

Until that time, they can continue to use my old phones and pretend to text people!  Even my little guy pretends to text but he always includes sound effects!
